A Letter From Us:

I’ve been writing this letter in my head for the better part of two weeks. It’s taken me that long to come to terms that I need to put it on paper.

When Daniel Conn announced his retirement a few weeks back we were all saddened by his sudden retirement. New pics of him were difficult to come by when he was playing. Now that he’s retiring they’ll be next to impossible to find. Over the last few weeks NightOwl and I have talked about the blog and whether or not it should continue. This is the Daniel Conn fan club and it doesn’t feel right to start posting pics of other players every day. Plus you guys have spoken loudly that you come here to see DC. With that said, we’ve decided not to continue with the blog. Thursday 06/30/11 will be our last post. We’ll leave the blog up so that the previous posts can still be browsed.

This has been an amazing year for NightOwl and I. We’ve built new friendships with people across the world. We’re so thankful for that and for all of the support you guys have shown us. We’ll miss this but this is the best decision for us at this time.

Thank you again for all of the support and guidance you’ve shown us over the last year. We’ll miss you all.

Happy Birthday Todd Carney!!

The nice thing about being 17 hours behind Sydeney is Todd Carney gets bday wishes for 2 days.

Happy Birthday Mini!!!

Today (05/24) is Anthony Minichiello’s birthday!!!!! Happy # 31 Mini!

Time to Change

Many of you who have followed the blog for a few months, know that NightOwl and I are still relatively new to the Rugby League world. The first team we found and fell in love with was the Roosters. The members of that team have been the reason and entire focus of this blog. But this blog has never been a “Roosters” blog, it’s been a blog about players.

Over the last year, we’ve spent time learning about the Rugby League world and all that it has. This time spent has shown us that there are  some amazing players out there that are on teams other than the Roosters. The time has come for us to expand our horizons and branch out.

What this means is, we will begin posting pics of some of our favorite players from other teams. We aren’t jumping ship on the Roosters. We still love and adore them and will continue to post pics. Mitchell Pearce Monday, Todd Carney Tuesday and Shaun Kenny-Dowall Saturdays will remain unchanged. We’ll still update the blog with the score and pics from the game. But pics eventually run out.  Short of his baby pics, we’ve posted just about every Daniel Conn pic that is known to man. And we don’t have, nor do we want, those. It’s time to grow the blog and make it better than ever.

We still hold a place in our heart for the Roosters. After all, they’re the team we root for every weekend.

Thank you for all of your visits, comments and support.

Letter to a Rooster – Volume 10 – Dear Daniel,

I have something I need to say but I’m trying to think of the best way to say it. I guess it’s best to just to do it. So……

It’s come to my attention that it’s highly likely you’ve seen this little blog here and have maybe even perused the pages. I feel like I should explain myself, but in order to do that, let me give you a little background.

A year ago a friend of a friend sent me a pic. The pic was of the hottest guy I had ever seen. We talked for a few days about him and she sent me more pics. As a joke I said I was going to start a blog devoted to the man in this picture. So in June 2010, the Daniel Conn Fan Club was born. I can’t lie to you, this started out as a total joke. There were four people who would look at this blog on a regular basis and it never really went anywhere. I felt though that I needed to do something more with the blog than just let it sit there. So I started a Daniel Conn Picture of the Day post. I posted a pic (when I remembered) and got a few hits here and there. I even roped my new found friend into being my “co-admin”. And then September 2010 happened. I don’t know what happened, but all of a sudden we went from averaging 19 views a day to 127. And it just kept growing. We now average 337 views per day and have had over 55,000 hits on the site, since August 2010. I think it’s safe to say, you Mr. Conn, are one hell of a popular man.

Although this blog started off as a site devoted to you, it’s grown. We’ve branched out to include pics of Todd Carney (Unf), Mitchell Pearce (He answered our questions during Skins Fan Friday), Braith Anasta (NightOwl is secretly in love with him) and Shaun Kenny-Dowall (he is not good for my ovaries). Plus a few others. And we continue to grow. Because of this blog, we have made so many new friends and that’s all thanks to you.

I hope you don’t take offense to anything that we’ve posted, or said, on this site. It’s all in good fun and we really do adore you, in a completely non stalker kind of way. And if you ever want to contact us, you know for an interview or something (please no restraining order), you can do so by using our email address on the welcome page. Be warned though, the questions we ask will not likely be about Rugby.

And thank you for being the person that introduced me to one of my best friends. I kind of owe you a lot for that.

PS – Since we live in the US, we can’t buy Roosters memberships or apparel. Maybe you could talk to someone about that huh???

I don’t know about you, but I’m looking forward to seeing this……

tonight!!! Game time in less than 4 hours!!!

We’ve said it before, but it’s worth repeating…….

Your visits, whether daily, weekly, monthly or if it’s your first time here, have made NightOwl and I so happy. This blog reached a HUGE milestone yesterday. 50,000 views. That’s 50,000 views since September 2010. If it weren’t for you, this blog would still be something only NightOwl and I saw. Your visits, comments and emails keep us posting every day and we’ve enjoyed the chance to get to know some of you more. We have no idea if Daniel Conn is aware of this blog (I secretly hope he’s not), but he’s become the mutual topic so many of us drool, I mean bond over.

Thanks again for your visits and support. We hope you’ll stick around to see more. And please, if you haven’t already, introduce yourself. We’d love to hear from other fans!

Lindsey and NightOwl
